School Mourns Sudden Death Of Former Student
Higham Lane School has been left shocked and saddened by the sudden death of former student, Luke Henney.
The 24-year-old amateur footballer was taken ill on Saturday afternoon while playing for Ambleside in a Coventry Alliance Premier Division fixture at Coventry-based Sphinx.
Later in the day he was taken to Nuneaton's George Eliot Hospital where he died in the early hours of the following morning.
Tributes have appeared on his Facebook page from friends and former school mates who have been left devastated by his tragic death at such an early age. He has been described as a `true gentleman' and `genuine nice lad'.
Carpenter Luke, who left Higham Lane in 2006, had represented Ambleside Sports & Social Club at football since he was a young boy, and had recently moved into a house near the ground on St Nicolas Park estate.
Higham Lane School sends commiserations to Luke's family and friends at this very sad time.
