School Tops County GCSE Table
This year's record-breaking GCSE performance has propelled Higham Lane to top spot in the Warwickshire league table.
In addition to recording its best-ever results in 2014, Higham also gains the distinction of being the highest-achieving non-selective School in the County.
Results, announced in August, revealed that:-
● 84% of students achieved five or more A*-C grades, including English and Mathematics (2013 figure 69%);
● 99% of students achieved five or more A*-G grades, including English and Mathematics;
● 90% of students achieved 5+ A*-C grades.
Delighted Headteacher, Mr Kelly, commented: ``We are absolutely delighted with this performance. It is a great achievement for the School and is also a great accolade for Nuneaton. Students, staff and governors feel enormously proud, particularly as we have achieved this at a time of great turbulence in the exam system.
``We are especially thrilled that our core subjects have managed to secure an 88% pass rate for A*-C in English and 93% A*-C in Mathematics. Progress figures are also fantastic with 84% of students making expected progress for English and 85% for Maths, which is significantly above national figures.''
